Kyiv Election Commission Registers Darth Vader As Candidate For Kyiv Mayor (14:14, Thursday, May 1, 2014)

The Kyiv city territorial election commission has registered Darth Vader as a candidate for Kyiv mayor, the election commission has informed Ukrainian News.

"He brought all documents in accordance with the established procedure and was registered," the election commission said.

Besides, the election commission registered racing car driver Oleksii Mochanov as a candidate for Kyiv mayor.

Under the plan calendar, April 30 was the deadline for submitting documents for registration of candidates for mayors and members of the Kyiv city council, and on May 1 ends the term for registration, and not later than May 3 the election commission must publish all decisions on registration of candidates.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv city territorial election commission registered chairman of the Kyiv Municipal State Administration Volodymyr Bondarenko, Vitali Klitschko, chairman of the UDAR (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reforms) faction at the Verkhovna Rada, Members of Parliament Lesia Orobets and Mykola Katerynchuk from the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Association faction, and also Ivan Salii, former chairman of the Kyiv Municipal State Administration as candidates for Kyiv mayor.

The elections of Kyiv mayor and of members of the Kyiv city council are due on May 25.
