The Verkhovna Rada has bound telecommunications operators and providers to prevent access to the websites of the news agencies which do not have a state registration certificate, reads the Law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the Judicial System and Status of Judges, and the procedural laws on extra measures for citizens' protection.
Based on the decision of the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NCCR), the telecommunications operators and providers must restrict their subscribers' access to the Internet resources disseminating information contrary to the law, as well as restrict access to the resources of the news agency without statutory certificate of state registration.
The telecommunications operators and providers may renew the access based on the decision to delete the information, or on the court judgement to overturn the decision on Internet access restriction if the required registration certificate is obtained.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada obliged telecommunications operators to sell SIM-card under contracts.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted nine laws by a show of hands.
