The Cabinet of Ministers has sealed the construction of a railway line between Kyiv and the Boryspil international airport in Kyiv region in the 2010-2012 period.
Ukrainian News learned this from governmental resolution No.1567 dated July 28, 2010.
The Cabinet of Ministers appoints the airport the customer of the project implementation.
The airport will finance the feasibility study of the project and the feasibility report is ordered until December 2010.
The Cabinet of Ministers advises the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, and the Transport and Communications Ministry after the endorsement of the feasibility report to consider provision of state guarantee to the airport for raising a credit for the project implementation.
The Cabinet of Ministers instructs the Kyiv city state administration, the Transport and Communications Ministry, the State Land Committee to settle the question of land lots required for the railway line construction.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said the government expects the commissioning of D terminal of the Boryspil airport to boost the passenger flow to 8 million passengers a year. In this connection there is a necessity of construction of an additional landing strip and a railway line between Kyiv and the airport.
In February 2009, the Transport and Communications Ministry replaced the Boryspil airport as the customer of the construction of the Kyiv - Boryspil railway line for the Southwestern Railway.
