The Cabinet of Ministers moved a pan-Ukrainian census of the population from 2011 to 2012, reads Government Executive Orders 1565 and 1566 issued on July 28.
The government ordered the State Statistics Committee to hold a test census in the Derhachivskyi district of Kharkiv region in December 2010.
Cabinet instructed the Statistics Committee to carry out a complex of works on preparation for, holding of the test population census in the second half of 2010 and in 2011 and process materials upon its results.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the State Statistics Committee in early July moved forward with an initiative to move to 2012 the population census scheduled for 2011.
The United Nations Organization is ready to render Ukraine assistance in the pan-Ukrainian census of the population.
The Cabinet of Ministers in April 2008 directed the State Statistics Committee by 2009 to work out a project of preparations for and holding of the 2011 pan-Ukrainian census.
The first pan-Ukrainian census was held on December 5, 2001.
