President Viktor Yanukovych notices necessity of reconstructing roads in Kyiv, reads a statement made by the presidential press service.
According to the statement, Yanukovych had a meeting with first deputy chairman of Kyiv municipal state administration Oleksandr Popov in Crimea.
"At a meeting the head of state ordered Kyiv authorities to pay attention at repairing and construction of roads in the city. Viktor Yanukovych... stressed, roads must be reconstructed not only in the centre of the capital but on the outskirts too," the statement said.
He also notes, they have to beautify territories adjacent to the Dnieper river and directed Popov's attention to the problems in the metropolitan utility and construction sectors, pointed to the necessity of economical use of budget funds.
According to the statement, Popov himself calls Kyiv's main problem ineffective use of the city budget means.
"We see for today certain misuse of the funds, as well as abuse of land resources, the city's fixed assets, real property," he emphasised.
Popov reported to the president on the progress in realisation of programmes aimed at resolving Kyiv's transport problems.
In his words, by the end of this year they will have finished building a traffic interchange on Moskovska Square, in the autumn will commission a flyover near the Podolskyi bridge.
He assures, before 2011 Kyiv will open three metro stations in the district Holosiivo.
Apart from this, at the meeting they discussed questions of readying Kyiv for the next heating season.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the president is in Crimea on holidays from July 9 to August 24.
