Transport Prosecutors' Office Tugs Away River Palace Entertainment Centre From Dnieper Quay In Kyiv (14:41, Thursday, July 29, 2010)

The transport prosecutors' office on July 29 tugged away River Palace entertainment centre, which was located on Naberezhne Road, from the Dnieper quay in Kyiv, Ukrainian News has learned from Andrii Yerashov, the lawyer of Raster Alfa, an enterprise which has the ship on lease.

In his words, on Thursday morning policemen blocked up the entrance to the establishment and asked its employees who was already inside to leave the premise.

Two persons, who introduced themselves as transport prosecutors' office employees, told him the territory of the establishment would be examined as part of criminal proceedings.

They did not specify the case in hand nor the way this establishment was connected with it.

After the search these people said the ship which carried River Palace would be confiscated as evidence in the mentioned case.

After that, at about noon the entertainment centre was hooked up to a tugboat which went downstream on Dnieper.

As to Yerashov, the prosecutors' office employees told him the ship would be tugged away somewhere in the region of Novoukrainka, Kyiv region.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv prosecutors' office is demanding the Transport and Communications Ministry to revise permissions for mooring along the Dnieper quay in Kyiv.

The Kyiv transport prosecutors' office is investigating cases opened by the Prosecutor-General's Office and Kyiv prosecutors' office upon violation of the law when issuing permissive documents for docking anchored dumb vessels on the Dnieper quay.

An expert examination testifies, the city granite embankment serves for the only purpose of protection of the river banks and not for holding anchorage of floating craft.

The floating landing stage on which Murakami restaurant was installed was recognised evidence in this criminal case.

On July 8, this floating vessel was searched and sent to safe place and transferred to the owner for keeping.
